Hello again!
There are a few new things to tell you about,
and I appreciate you taking time to check them out.
-
I've been wanting to switch to a sliding scale model for a long time. I tried it once, about six years ago, and had a few responses that I wasn't expecting, and didn't know how to handle. I've got that figured out now, and am making the switch.
My booking program does not allow a person to choose their own price. So we are going to have to work on this together.
My new price, starting November 1st, is $130 for a 90 minute session.
Sliding scale is from $130 down to $100.
This means that, if $130 is a barrier to you, find somewhere on the sliding scale that is a match with your financial reality. Trust what you know of your circumstances and finances to know what the right price to pay is.
I trust you.
If this jangles your nervous system, and you just don't want to have to figure this out - you don't have to do it alone! Let's talk about it, and figure it out together.
I know it can be a barrier to have one more decision to make - especially about money! To have one more place that you have to balance your needs with another person's.
And if you're coming to me because you already have a jangled nervous system, this might feel like it pushes you one step too far to be able to think straight.
So let's do it together.
And ergh. Talk to someone else about money? For me, that's been a no go for decades. Starting to get the hang of it now, thank the therapy goddesses I work with.
The intention is to keep my prices as affordable for those who need it as I can, while also meeting my own needs in a more efficient way.
Contrary to what I learned (and maybe you?) growing up - it is possible for more than one person to get their needs met at a time.
So, if this stresses you out, talk to me. We really will be able to figure it out together.

Resonant Healing Bodywork
I've been developing my practice over the years, and am getting really clear on the direction I want to move in the future.
I've spent the last year studying the neurobiology of interpersonal relationships with Sarah Peyton, author of Your Resonant Self.
This work so aligns with what I've experienced as a massage practitioner over the years, and I want to bring it even more into my practice.
I'm learning, and putting into practice in a more clear way, the neuroscience behind what I do. The very specific why behind the woo woo. I love it!
I've been practising this all along, silently in conversation with your body.
Now I know how to have that conversation out loud, as a three way communication between your body, myself, and your conscious awareness. I've been seeing amazing changes happen, the more I bring it in.
So I'm going all in.
This may not change your experience of a session at all.
And, I may ask you new questions when you come in with something going on in your body.
Your consent is paramount, so if you'd rather not move in that direction, and you want to continue with what's always worked for you, I get that, and totally respect it.
But I want you to know you have the option. For more talking, in a very specific way that I've been experiencing as very freeing for more and more clients.

SomaOm focuses on Embodiment Practice and Resonance skills.
This is the foundation of building skills to be in Resonant Community, with self and with others.
Learn how to deeply listen, how to stay with your own sweet self while other people in the room are experiencing emotions, and practice self-regulation.
Learn how to talk with people who are experiencing emotions, and how to stay with them, without loosing yourself.
Practice feeling your body and how it is affected by others, and learn how to self-regulate on the fly.

I've spent the last year in online classes with Sarah Peyton, author of Your Resonant Self. She writes about the neuroscience of healing and empathy.
I have learned so much. I can't even tell you. It has changed every single relationship I have for the better - every single one.
I've been in some form of therapy for almost thirty years. This has been like adding rocket fuel to my development and healing and learning.
And now I want to bring it into my in-real-life world. I want everyone who is interested to have the opportunity to feel these changes and opportunities for healing, too.
So, this blends together some of my favourite things (facilitation, healing, learning, exploration, embodiment, growth, expansion) with some of the things I'm really starting to get the hang of (interpersonal connection in which I don't lose myself, being part of a group without being swept away by others' experiences and energies).
This might be a fit for you if:
you want people in your life who you can say things to, and they won't give you advice or tell you how to feel. they'll have the skill to just listen and accompany you.
you want to be one of those people for others
you want to learn how to be one of those people for your own sweet self
you want really clear instructions, and scripts, and step-by-step guidance for having deeply connected and compassionate experiences with others.
This involves a monthly online community practice session, as well as in person events for practicing our resonance skills.
These will be listed on the website under Events, as they arise.

There are cultures that never lost their connection between self and body. I imagine they'd ask "You really have to go to classes to learn how to do this thing that is easy as breathing?"
But we don't live in that culture.
We live in a culture that has all the -isms. Capitalism, Industrialism, Colonialism, Racism - as well as Patriarchy, Misogyny, etc.
These are not healthy environments in which to stay deeply connected to your experience of your body sensations on a moment to moment level.
And the -isms impact some more than others. As a sexual abuse survivor, and someone with the resultant alphabet soup for mental health diagnoses, dissociation from my body was necessary and really smart.
I imagine you may have some really good reasons for being a bit separate from your own body at times, too.
We are re-membering ourselves. We have to be shown how to feel the big feels, and stay with them, in a new way that leads to healing, and not overwhelm, dissociation, or numbing and avoidance.
Whatever we call it, this is the best practice I know for reclaiming the sovereign land of your body. It's the most effective practice I know for remembering your first language, the language of your own being, and learning to speak it fluently again.
If you're healing big stuff, or wanting to release chronic pain or learn to live in a body that isn't how it used to be, embodiment practice can help you.
